DESIGN APPROACH
Jonathan Harnish, a Cal Poly Pomona Masters of Landscape Architecture graduate, is adept in the most current sustainable design practices for effectively connecting people with the natural environment. He believes that this connectedness is optimized at the residential scale through carefully planned, multi-functional landscapes that enhance the overall quality of the home environment.
His eco-conscious design approach is centered on developing visually expressive and imaginative landscapes that conserve water and improve local ecology by providing valuable urban habitat for local wildlife. This is primarily accomplished through his artistic and often unconventional integration of California Friendly and native plants in his low-water planting designs.
Through his keen design insight, experience in wholesale nursery sales, and extensive horticultural knowledge of drought-tolerant plants, Jonathan produces top value outdoor living spaces, gardens, and residential landscapes that stimulate the senses, meet functional needs, provide year-round interest, and improve property values.
Jonathan is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD). He currently serves as Treasurer of the APLD Greater Los Angeles District.
